High energy physics has become more than ever an international activity, where progress is based on global scale projects, research activities cross traditional boundaries and there is a permanent need for discussion of ideas and collaborations. The Mexican high energy community needs to work very hard in order to enhance its participation in the making of this science. In this regard, the Dual CP Institute of High Energy Physics is born with the aim of helping to create and consolidate groups devoted to work in the area of physics beyond the standard model.
One of the main activities of the institute will be to organize a yearly winter workshop devoted to the most current developments in high energy physics. The workshops will take place at Colima and Puebla Universities, alternating each year. Each workshop will last about 10 – 15 days in January and will be focused on a specific subject. Participation will be by invitation only and it is expected that each workshop will count with 20 – 25 participants. There will be about two talks/lectures per day and the rest of the time will be dedicated to discussion and interaction among the participants. There will be a couple of invited (plenary) lecturers.
